Kretzmer Counseling LLC
I believe that people get stuck at different times in life. I hope to partner and guide my clients into a more conflict free space. Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people find solutions in only a few sessions, while others need more time to reach a goal. Some benefit from empathy and listening, while others require concrete strategies to overcome obstacles. Many prefer a combination of the two, but it is always a joint effort. My approach is warm and accepting, with a little humor when appropriate. Specialties are working with teens and adults on a variety of life issues, including depression and anxiety, and dealing with loss and change. I also work with parents on parenting skills and building relationships with their teenagers. I work with individuals, families and couples. I welcome diversity.
I tend to rely on the following frameworks; client centered therapy, solution focused therapy, ERP, cognitive behavioral therapy, and teach several DBT skills. I look for strengths in all my clients.
Some interesting facts that make me unique are that I have lived and traveled internationally. I am a stage four Burkitt Lymphoma cancer survivor. I have been married 29 years and have two young adult children. I love animals and own a dog and cat.
